Research Sandpit: NIHR Programme Grants – 9 March 2026

Join us for our Research Sandpit event, an opportunity to meet cross-disciplinary researchers from across the region, share expertise, develop your research idea or generate a new idea, build partnerships, and get expert advice. The focus of this sandpit will be NIHR Programme Grants.

The aim of a Programme Grant is to deliver research findings that will lead  to clear and identifiable patient, service user or carer benefits, typically through promotion of health and wellbeing, prevention of ill health, and optimal disease management. You will hear first hand experience from Prof. Felix Naughton who has been successful in applying and delivering a Programme Grant, and from Prof. Philpott, a committee member for such applications.

Even if you are not current planning a programme grant, please do come along to prepare for future applications for a programme grant or another funding call, and to build local collaborations and hear expert advice.
