Annual Research Report
Research is at the heart of creating new and better treatments and care for our patients and helps to improve outcomes for them. It is a key part of the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH) ‘Caring with PRIDE’ Corporate Strategy.
Our research highlights from 2022-23
We have:
- Appointed our first ever Clinical Associate Professors in Clinical and Translational Medicine. These joint appointments are supported by the Norwich Medical School at the University of East Anglia and NNUH to foster clinical academic leadership and expand growing research themes in collaboration with our partners on the Norwich Research Park.
- Received the prestigious award and status of NIHR Norfolk Clinical Research Facility (CRF). The successful grant application will support early phase research in the Quadram CRF, and in CRF Central and CRF Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (on the main hospital site).
- Generated and disseminated a large body of new research knowledge. In 2022 more than 250 new research papers were published covering a wide range of specialties.
Achieving this was only possible through the engagement and collaboration of everyone within the research infrastructure, the Trust, our partners and stakeholders.
